Conferences: These are the type of sessions where medical, social subjects that gained importance due to recent developments in neurosurgery field are emphasized. The moderator is expected to inform the audience about the topic and the speaker within the 20 minutes allowed, and ensures a suitable environment where the speaker is able to explain the topic thoroughly and the audience can discuss the topic with the speaker. Speakers, on the other hand, are expected to prepare slides corresponding to half the time he/she is allowed and explain the topic completely. Conference time is 20 minutes, including discussions.

Panel Discussions: In this type of sessions, experienced speakers explain the topic and associated basic concepts, latest developments and their own experiences. Speakers are allowed 10 minutes of narration and 5 minutes of discussion. Moderators should provide a short introduction to maintain topic cohesion and prevent repetitions and inform the audience about the programme. Panel time is 35 minutes, including discussions.

Case Discussions: These are one of the session types in the congress where the audience is planned to actively participate using interactive voting method. Cases that are interesting and educative in terms of their subjects are expected to be narrated and information and experience on these cases are shared. Speakers justify their assertations in light of the literature and their own experiences such as “I would observe-treat the case like this” within the 10-minute allowed time period. Once all 3 speakers finish their speeches, moderator asks the audience to electronically vote them and after the evaluation, he/she opens the discussion by giving the floor to the supporters of the speaker with the lowest votes. Case discussion time is 45 minutes, including discussions.  

Verbal Statements of the Year Presentations: One session is dedicated to the verbal statements with the highest scores. These statements will be presented as the “Statements of the Year”. Electronic evaluation is also possible in relation to the presentation and discussion performance during the presentation. Researchers who would like to be nominated for the statements of the year must mark the relevant box in the online statement submission page. Authors found successful by the judges after the first evaluation will be asked to submit their statements in PowerPoint form online, then the second evaluation phase will follow. Therefore, researchers who would like to be nominated should prepare the final version of their presentations about 3 weeks before the congress date. 

Verbal Statement Presentations: Type of session where studies prepared about a single specific subject will be presented verbally. Statement presenters are given about 4 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion. Moderators should pay maximum attention to the time limit in order to prevent speakers from exceeding it. Each presenter is planned to be present on the stage by moving questions and discussions to the end of the session, and a discussion environment is aimed to be created through audience questions and contributions. Moderators should inform the audience and speakers about this method in the introduction part. Verbal presentation sessions are about 35 and 40 minutes according to the number of statements to be presented, including discussions.

Verbal Statement Presentations in English: Submitting presentations, scoring, acceptance, presentation and discussion times during the congress will be the same as other presentations. If this statement is included among the statements of the year, it is possible to be presented in Turkish as well, in the statements of the year session. 

Poster Presentations with Discussion: Due to physical constraints, it isn’t possible to present all the statements verbally. However, in order for the produced information to be conveyed and shared, poster presentations will be projected to the screen and presenters will be required to provide a short summary of their one-slide PowerPoint posters within 4 minutes. Moderators are expected to give the floor to poster presenters by determining a situation relative to one or two themes they identified before, and create a learning process by asking questions and receiving contributions from the audience. Poster presentations are 45 minutes, including discussions.

Electronic Poster Presentations: All the poster presentations that are not included in poster presentations with discussion will be exhibited in the e-poster room inside Kaya Palazzo Hotel Congress Centre.

Video Presentations: 6-minute videos will preferably be presented by experienced individuals.

Satellite Symposium - Workshop: There will be satellite symposiums and workshops within the congress scientific programme. In this session format, pharmaceutical/medical companies will submit their scientific programme prepared to convey the latest developments on their relevant fields to regulatory committee, and these will be checked for their ethical compliance.

Family Meeting: A special meeting exclusively for Turkish Neurosurgical Society members.

Neurosurgery Nursing Congress: Neurosurgery Nursing sessions held in different halls.

Neurosurgery Assistantship Sessions: Sessions organized, moderated and participated by neurosurgery assistants. The aim is to discuss neurosurgery education and training from their own perspectives.

Session Moderators and Discussions: Sessions are moderated by at least two moderators determined in advance. Fixed microphones are placed in hall corridors to allow the audience to ask questions.

Participants who would like to ask questions must stand up and queue at the microphone. Time limits of sessions are to be followed strictly throughout the congress and moderators are fully authorized in this sense.
