Dear Colleagues!

We are honoured to invite you to the “8th Neurosurgical Nursing Congress” that will be performed in company with the 26th Scientific Congress of the Neurosurgical Nurses Association Board in Maritim Congress Center, Belek/Antalya, between 20-24 April 2012, in the name of Neurosurgical Nurses Association Board. We would like to thank the President of the Turkish Neurosurgery Association, Dear Asst. Prof. Murad Bavbek, who is our strategical partner that has supported our congress this year just like the previous year, and also the board of management. 

We would primarily extend our thanks for the founder and previous president of our association, Dear Huriye Öztürk who has brought the Neurosurgical Nurses to these days with her contributions; boards of management and supervisors, our Academic Members who sustain their contributions; the previous presidents of the Turkish Neurosurgery Association, Dear Prof. Dr. Ö.Selçuk Palaoğlu, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Zileli and Prof. Dr Ethem Beşkonaklı and boards of management; all of our members who have supported us with their contributions and scientific supports. 

During the “8th Neurosurgical Nursing Congress” of our association, as well as oncologic, vascular, spinal and pediatric neurosurgery and patients with trauma, which are the basic fields of neurosurgical nursing, “current information and innovations in the perioperative care” will be discussed. Apart from these, we hope that the approaches of “critical thinking, clinical decision-making”, which will contribute to the personal development of neurosurgical nurses, will be discussed and that an opinion is formed by bringing the issues of “quality-accreditation-performance” into question in nursing services, within the scope of the law of public hospitals union. With this congress, we plan to discuss every step of “Surgical nursing practices in neurosurgery” with trainers and experienced neurosurgical nurses in simultaneous sessions for the first time. We are happy to announce that all of our participants will get stronger with acquisitions that will be obtained by participating in sessions about the fields they are interested in, which are conducted simultaneously, and that the first three research declarations that are selected traditionally in our congress will be rewarded with the support of the Turkish Neurosurgery Association.   

We hope that our association will get stronger by adding new provincial representatives, which was started during the previous congress, with your participations, will share the status detection report of the national neurosurgical nurses and that we will flourish and get stronger with scientific and social interactions in our congress. We are expecting all of our colleagues to contribute to and participate in the “8th Neurosurgical Nursing Congress” with their research and practice experiences and invite them to this beautiful city of our country.
